Agatha Von Trapp, the oldest of the Trapp Family Singers, has died in Towson, Maryland. She was portrayed in the movie as 16 going on 17 Liesl. From the AP:
Von Trapp, 97, died Tuesday at a hospice in the Baltimore suburb of Towson after suffering congestive heart failure in November, said Mary Louise Kane. Kane and von Trapp lived together for five decades and ran a kindergarten at the Sacred Heart Catholic parish in nearby Glyndon until 1993.
Von Trapp, who apparently never married nor had children, was described in the article as far more reserved than Charmain Carr's Liesl. Her brother Johannes described her as a very private person and a talented sketch artist. The picture is from her 1948 petition to become a naturalized US citizen. She will be buried at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.
