Color Photos of San Francisco in 1906 Discovered
This is one of a cache of color photographs taken in San Francisco shortly after the great earthquake of 1906. These are not hand colored. They were taken with a true color technique by Frederick Ives, one of the earliest photographers to experiment with color photography. They were recently discovered by a volunteer at the National Museum of American History. Amazing.
